April – June 2026 | Francis Parlor | Portland, Maine
The Francis has long been more than a hotel. From the intricate inlay floors of our historic Parlor to the art rails that were originally designed to display paintings in the 1880s, this building was made to hold art. Over the years, we’ve been honored to showcase and sell work from Maine artists whose pieces bring warmth and conversation into our historic spaces.
Now, we’re opening our doors once again. We invite local artists to submit work for our April–June 2026 exhibition in the Francis Parlor, with an opening celebration during Portland’s First Friday Art Walk in April.

We will select one artist to feature in the Francis Parlor for a three-month exhibition.
The selected artist will provide 5–6 cohesive, ready-to-hang pieces. We encourage artists of all backgrounds, disciplines, and perspectives to apply. Our only request is that you are either based in Maine, or that yourself or your proposed body of work demonstrates a strong connection to Maine.
