Looking for where to stay in Portland, Maine for an incredible getaway? The 15 guest rooms at The Francis each have their own story. Originally built in 1881 as a Victorian mansion for Mellen E. Bolster and his family, the building’s history lives on through restored details like stained glass, inlaid floors, and cast iron fireplaces. While no two rooms are exactly alike, each blends historic charm with modern amenities—designed for a stay that’s as unique as Portland itself. Each morning, enjoy a complimentary breakfast sandwich or yogurt parfait delivered to your door, along with fresh pour-over coffee.
